In order to get the most precise and accurate results, consider having a light dinner the previous night and skipping the breakfast on the morning of your test. In case your test is scheduled in the afternoon, refrain from eating at least 6 hours before your appointment. But make sure to stay adequately hydrated with water as this facilitates the blood draw, ensuring accurate test results. Consumption of black coffee or tea without sugar or milk may be allowed, consult your healthcare provider or clinician regarding this.
You will meet a skilled phlebotomist at our clinic. The procedure is rapid and easy, usually involving a small needle to draw a small quantity of blood from a vein in your arm, close to the elbow. The blood sample will be analysed and forwarded to our laboratory for testing. If you have a fear of needles, please do let us know ahead of time and we will ensure arrangements in your support.
Depending on which test you have, your results will be ready by the same day if you came in the morning, or overnight if you came after lunch. You can also have your results sent to you via phone call, email or come in person – whichever you prefer. If you are already seeing one of our physicians, they will call you directly with the results for discussion.
