Applying for Work in St Kitts & Nevis? - Prepare and Complete Your St Kitts & Nevis Medicals

St. Kitts & Nevis is a tremendous two-island nation found in between the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. With their alluring beaches and significant economic growth, it is no wonder that people are captivated to visit and even work here. To work here, you must secure a work permit and the process for it is simple and the requirements are straightforward. If you are choosing to have citizenship through investment, this approach will no longer require you to get a work permit. Once you gain that citizenship, you are already on the same level as with the locals of the country.

However, for non-citizens, it is mandatory that you already have a job that is lined up for you before getting the permit. Employers are likely to help their employees with the process.

Working on your Work Permit

The process of obtaining the permit might take you from three to six months. The process will take a while, and its validity plus the fee will also depend on your job. Aside from filling out an application form, you would also need to provide the following documentation:

  • Employment offer
  • Police certificate and birth certificate
  • Proof of funds/financial status
  • Your Passport and passport-sized photos
  • Results of your St Kitts & Nevis Medicals

These are the documents that you needed to submit to gain the permit. Some would advise you to get the help of a local lawyer when processing it. This is for a reason is that you should have the unique skills that no one, even the locals can fill in the work position. So, if you have proven that you that unique skill unlike others, then you have a bigger chance to be approved and get your permit.

Completing Medicals

When important details are being talked about, it is best to be straightforward. Just like the requirements for visa application given by the government St Kitts & Nevis, they are straightforward. One of the requirements before an employee is being hired is his well-being. Companies make it to the point that they have strict guidelines when it comes to their employees’ health.  In this country, to have your visa get approved, you will need to undergo a general examination. You will also need to have a blood test for HIV.

Aside from these, routine vaccinations such as for Typhoid and Hepatitis A are recommended. No need to get a chest x-ray since only the blood test and general medical examination is needed. You can have these tests with the most trusted health and medical service provider in town. You need to bring your passport as a proof that you are the person that will be having his/her medicals.
