Visa Requirements

There is a general rule governing all foreigners who will be working in Brunei. You must get a valid employment pass and employment visa before you could enter the country. The exemption to this rule is that if you just have a short-term visit for professional or business purposes, then you enter the country without getting the employment visa. However, you can only stay or visit there for a limited period only.

Here are the medical tests and other requirements that you need in applying for Brunei Visa Medicals:

  • Pregnancy blood test – this required for all women visiting the country.
  • Stool test – this is done to check bacterial parasites. This test is only given for those visa applicants who will be working in a food-handling
  • Chest X-ray
  • Urine test – this is to check if the person has used illegal drugs.
  • Blood test – this will be administered to check for syphilis, Hepatitis B, Malarial parasites and HIV
  • Medical history – the current as well as your past medical history is needed and will be required to be submitted.

Aside from these, there are several vaccinations that you should get. These vaccinations include for Hepatitis B, Tetanus and Typhoid. These medical tests and other medical requirements can already accomplish while you are still in your home country. There are accredited medical and health service providers that you can avail of their services to save you time and extra hassles.

Proceeding to the Next Step

After accomplishing the tests and getting the results, you are now ready to take the next step. You will be bringing those results with your passport and two pieces of passport-sized photos to the embassy or the diplomatic mission of Brunei. Your passport will be the key to verify your identity. Once all your documents are verified and are approved, you can now get your work pass. This pass has two years of validity and is renewable for another two years. There is no need for you to wait for long to have your visa approved. It is because of the processing time for this one week.
