Most Common Gynaecological Conditions We Treat

Pelvic pain: Any woman who experiences pains in the pelvisduring intercourse needs a pelvic or vaginal examination, laparoscopy and ultrasound scan to detect endometriosissymptoms.

Endometriosis: Endometriosis causes serious pelvic pain. It is a condition that results from a tissue lining of the uterus which may affect the ligament or ovaries that support the uterus.

Menstruation problems: This is when periods (menstrual flow) happen in a longer time than the usual or a more frequent deviation from the standard 25 – 30days period. Tests such as blood counts or pelvic scan on the uterus should be carried out in case you experience regular spotting during periods.

Hysteroscopy surgery: This is a medical process where the surgeon will perform biopsies to remove polyps or fibroids in the uterus due to cancer. It is done when other organs do not respond to treatment.

Colposcopy for abnormal smears: Colposcopy is used to treat women who are positive to an abnormal smear test.

Fibroids: Fibroid is a growth noticed on the inner or outer lining or muscle of the uterus which can only be treated by surgery or some contraceptives or injections. It may lead to infertility or heavy menstrual flow in some extreme cases.

Prolapse: This is when the vagina wall becomes weak after childbirth and may require surgery to fix.

Hysterectomy: This is a process whereby the uterusis removed surgically as a result of cancer in the womb when it does not respond to other treatment option.

Post-Menopausal Bleeding: This is when women still bleed after menopause. Pelvic examination with an ultrasound scan will need to be carried out to detect whether she is suffering from an early stage of cancer or polyps.

Gynaecological cancer surgery: This process is used in treating women who may be suffering from cancer in the vulva, cervix, ovaries, fallopian tubes, uterus and vagina.

Vulval problems: This is the hardening of the skin, pre-cancerous symptoms and cysts termed as vulva; intra-epithelial neoplasia. This problem can occur in every woman regardless of their age.
